50

Back when I had my old blog, it somehow only took 43 days to reach entry number 50. I guess I must have been posting more than once a day. Over six years later, in 2011, it took me 73 days to reach the same number. Decreased free time, increased social life, increased laziness… at least I have one positive change.

I’ve let four days lapse since the last post. In that time…

  • I had my first rock climbing experience. Indoors, of course. It was scary. I have a fear of heights, so being up near the top was really frightening. But somehow, I got through four climbs. OK, so I cheated. The easy ones I could do without straying from my assigned color, but even for like 5.6, it just seemed impossible to make it without using other colors. I’m new at this. And I’m totally physically inept.
  • I cut my finger open on broken glass. I was washing some dishes, when I managed to knock a glass in the sink over, and then a shard of glass embedded itself in my left pinky. There was a lot of blood, and it cut through my fingernail. It’s not a big deal for most people, I’m sure, but I hate blood and pain. And Band-Aids. That smell. Gross.
  • I finally used my $50 certificate for Ozumo in Oakland, which was set to expire Monday. Had some delicious lychee cocktails there. One with vodka, lychee, and Sprite was really good. I’ll have to try that combination at home.
  • I went to Spices in Oakland, which had a wide selection of stinky tofu dishes. I do not like stinky tofu. It stinks, as you might guess from the name. My friends encouraged me to try a piece. It tasted pretty much like it smelled.
  • I went to Cream in Berkeley, where I got a delicious ice cream sandwich for only $2. I chose butter sugar cookies with strawberry cheesecake ice cream. It was a big scoop of ice cream sandwiched between two warm, buttery, incredibly sweet cookies. Decadent.
  • I played Munchkin for only the second time. I think it’s a game with really cute cards, full of whimsy. Hopefully I’ll play again some day…
  • I bought a plush Snoopy online. He’s one of my favorite dogs.

And some other random stuff that’s even less worth mentioning that what I’ve already mentioned.
